Join Us June 7 for the JA StartUP Showcase

Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans is proud to introduce the inaugural cohort of JA StartUP, a new initiative designed to support “entrepreneurs of necessity”—young creatives, culture bearers, and innovators whose business ideas reflect the energy, resilience, and heritage of our region.

On Saturday, June 7, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, we invite our community of supporters, partners, and advocates to The Nieux in New Orleans for the JA StartUP Entrepreneur Showcase. This expo-style event is the culmination of weeks of hands-on coaching, mentorship, and business development, made possible by the generous support of the Oscar J. Tolmas Charitable Trust, for a talented group of entrepreneurs aged 18–25. Guests will have the opportunity to meet the participants, explore their booths, and vote for their favorite ventures. In total, $25,000 in funding will be distributed, with awards determined by both a panel of judges and community members in attendance including you!

Each young entrepreneur has participated in a series of targeted workshops focused on business planning, financial wellness, and storytelling. These experiences have equipped them with the tools to develop sustainable businesses—while balancing the demands of work, school, and family. This year’s cohort includes private chefs, fashion designers, tattoo artists, and media producers—each building a venture rooted in passion and purpose.

The JA StartUP Entrepreneur Showcase offers more than just an afternoon of inspiration—it is a chance to invest in the future of our region’s economy and to champion the voices of young people who are often overlooked in traditional entrepreneurship programs.

We hope you’ll join us on June 7 to celebrate their achievements and cast your vote. Your participation helps fuel their next chapter and supports JA’s mission to prepare young people for economic success.
