Key Programs within JA Future Ready

Future Connect is a collaborative initiative with YouthForce NOLA that introduces students to high-growth regional industries and career pathways. Through hands-on career exploration, employer engagement, and career pathway education, students gain exposure to real career opportunities and the skills needed to pursue them.

The program connects education with workforce demand by helping students understand how their interests and academic choices align with careers in fields such as healthcare, technology, skilled trades, hospitality, and business. By bringing employers directly into the learning experience, Future Connect helps students see themselves in future careers while strengthening the region’s workforce pipeline.

The YouthForce + Junior Achievement Career Expo introduces more than 2,000 Orleans Parish ninth-grade students each year to the region’s leading industries and employers. Students rotate through interactive industry exhibits where professionals demonstrate real workplace skills, tools, and technologies.

The Expo serves as an early launch point for students’ career exploration journeys. By connecting young people with employers early in high school, the Expo helps students better understand the skills, education pathways, and opportunities available in the regional workforce while inspiring them to begin planning for their futures.

JA Future Ready helps bridge this gap by connecting students with employers, introducing them to in-demand careers, and equipping them with the professional skills needed to succeed. By strengthening connections between education and industry, JA is helping build a stronger regional workforce pipeline and expanding economic mobility for young people across our communities.
