A Perfect Day on the Course Helps Create Brighter Futures for JA Students

Perfect weather, an incredible turnout, and two holes-in-one made the 27th annual Crescent City Corporate Championship a day to remember. Even more meaningful was the reason golfers and community partners came together: to help young people build the skills and confidence to pursue their futures.

Hosted by Blessey Marine Services, Inc. and Blessey Charities, this year’s tournament brought supporters of Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans together on October 23 at Beau Chene Country Club in Mandeville. Throughout the day, golfers enjoyed friendly competition and time with colleagues and friends while supporting opportunities for students across our region.

Congratulations to Robert Bonney, Tim Johnson, Kevin Reno, and Joe Taylor of Johnson’s Hydraulic Services LLC, whose team finished with the tournament’s winning score.

For more than two decades, the Crescent City Corporate Championship has brought businesses and individuals together around a shared belief in the potential of young people. Since the tournament began in 2000, Blessey Charities has donated more nearly $4 million in net proceeds to support JA programs.

That generosity helps JA reach students with hands-on experiences that connect what they learn in the classroom to their lives and futures. Students practice making financial decisions, discover careers in their own communities, explore entrepreneurship, and develop the skills they need to navigate the world of work.

It can mean a young person learning how to manage a budget, meeting a professional who introduces them to a career they had never considered, or gaining the confidence to turn an idea into a business. These experiences help students see new possibilities and take steps toward achieving them.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to  Blessey Marine Services, Inc., Blessey Charities, Walter Blessey, Clark Todd, and the entire team for their extraordinary commitment to JA and the young people we serve. Their leadership and continued support have helped make this tournament a tradition with an impact that reaches far beyond the golf course.

We are also grateful to AccuTRANS, Lamarque Ford & Lamarque Lincoln, and Southwest Shipyard, along with every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who helped make this year’s event such a success.

Thank you for investing in our students and believing in what they can achieve. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone on the course next year! Be sure to mark your calendars for Friday, October 22, 2027!
