About JA

1. Economic mobility

A young person’s future should be shaped by their potential, with access to opportunities that help them realize it.

JA of Greater New Orleans advances economic mobility by helping students build financial knowledge, explore careers, and develop the skills and relationships to move forward. Through hands-on learning and connections with employers, young people discover possibilities—and begin planning how to get there.

I’m proud to support this work as a JA board member, and I invite you to get involved at www.jagno.org

2. Connecting education to careers

“How do I get from where I am to the future I want?”

JA of Greater New Orleans helps young people answer that question. Through JA Future Ready, students explore high-wage, high-growth careers, meet people working in those fields, and connect their education choices to future opportunities.

Career speakers, workplace visits, job shadows, and work readiness workshops help students turn curiosity into a plan for a good job here at home. Your company can help shape the future. Get involved at www.jagno.org

3. Learning through experience

At JA BizTown, students run businesses and help operate a simulated city. Through the Trust Your Crazy Ideas Challenge, high school students develop and pitch business ideas. Through JA Future Ready, young people explore careers and build connections with employers.

These experiences help students understand what they can do, what opportunities exist, and how to take their next steps. That’s why JA of Greater New Orleans matters to our community. You can learn more about how to support JA at www.jagno.org

Why I support JA

4. A personal reason

I serve on the board of JA of Greater New Orleans because I believe young people deserve opportunities to discover their strengths and build a financially secure future.

JA connects students with practical knowledge, real-world experiences, and people who can help them see a path forward. To me, that’s an investment in economic mobility—and in the future of our community.

5. Opening doors

Think about someone who helped you see a possibility you hadn’t considered—a teacher, mentor, colleague, or employer.

JA of Greater New Orleans creates those moments for young people. A conversation with a career speaker or a first workplace visit can introduce a student to an entirely new future.

I support JA because access to people, information, and opportunity can change the direction of a young person’s life. You can learn more about JA at www.jagno.org

6. Our region’s future

Our region needs a prepared workforce. Our young people need clear pathways to careers that offer stability and room to grow.

JA of Greater New Orleans brings those needs together, connecting education with employers and helping students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue opportunities here at home.

As a board member, I’m proud to support work that advances young people’s economic mobility while strengthening our region’s future. You can learn more about JA at www.jagno.org
