Future Connect Volunteerism provides opportunities for professionals to directly mentor and support students as they prepare for future careers. Volunteers engage in activities such as guiding students through resume development, offering constructive feedback on job applications, conducting mock interviews, and helping students refine their networking and communication skills. Through small group mentorship and one-on-one practice, volunteers play a vital role in building students’ confidence and equipping them with practical tools for workforce readiness. This initiative bridges the gap between classrooms and careers, empowering young people with the skills and experiences needed to succeed in diverse industries. Join us in shaping tomorrow’s workforce—one student at a time!
Why Volunteer with JAGNO?
Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans is making a positive impact on students throughout Southeastern Louisiana. Through age appropriate curriculum, students are engaged with hands-on experiences to help them understand the economics of life. Our volunteers provide real-life experience and knowledge to the students that we work with from Kindergarten through high school.
Volunteers are typically business professionals, college students, community members, or parents who want to play an active part in participating in the education of students around them. We are continually striving to work with a pool of volunteers to reflect the diversity of the communities and students that we serve throughout the Greater New Orleans area and Southeastern Louisiana.
Volunteering with JA is not only fun, but great professional development - our volunteers practice public speaking, training, management, problem solving, and leadership during their volunteering commitment. Many volunteers are able to count their JA experience for volunteer credit hours with their employer. JA volunteers find the experience to be powerful, fun, and rewarding – and many come back and teach with us year after year!
