Volunteer Now

Sign up today to be a JA classroom volunteer. This school year, 800 classroom volunteers are needed to present JA's hands-on economic education programs to classes in public, private, and parochial schools in the New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana. Volunteers attend a one-hour training session (at JA or their organization) or can train online.  Volunteers then present to classrooms five to seven 45-minute JA economics sessions. Programs are age appropriate and are offered to students in grades K-12.

See our Local Programs web page for more information about the JA Curriculum.

If you would like more information about volunteering, email Christopher Sommers at chris@jagno.org.

     1. Personalized Placement: JA works with you to ensure you teach at the location and grade level of your choice.

     2. Comprehensive Training: JA Staff provides training so you are comfortable visiting the classroom. You will be trained in:

  • classroom management
  • understanding and relaying the JA curriculum
  • working with the classroom teacher
