The Newspaper is just one of 14 businesses within the 10,000 square foot JA BizTown.  The Newspaper’s primary purposes are to develop the JA BizTown newspaper, add to the JA BizTown photo archives and to encourage citizens to read.

Key Features:

Daily Newspaper: students produce articles and print a newspaper complete with photographs and advertisements; newspaper sections include world news, national news, local news, school news, letters to the editor, advice columns, sports, entertainment and fashion

Photo Archives: journalists take candid photos as well as photograph events of the day

Human Resources:

CEO – the boss; must manage employees and the company to pay back a business loan and earn a profit

CFO – handles paying bills, trips to the bank and all accounting

Journalists – gather news stories and write articles, design advertisements, photograph events in JA BizTown, and encourage citizens to read

Capital Resources:

Computers, printers, digital cameras, clipboards, bookshelves, pencils & pencil sharpener, etc.
