City Hall is just one of 14 businesses within the 10,000 square foot JA BizTown. City Hall’s primary purposes are to provide town leadership, administer voting, collect taxes, issue business licenses, and deliver mail.

Key Features:

Town Leadership: the Mayor addresses JA BizTown citizens in the morning and afternoon with “State of the Union” style speeches.

Voting is every citizen’s privilege and duty – tough, real world issues are decided as well as some not so deep issues such as favorite ice cream.

Taxes are to be paid by every business and citizen.

Business Licenses are to be displayed by each business at all times.

Mail Delivery: City Hall’s civil servants deliver all bills, bill payments and personal letters during the day.

Human Resources:

Mayor – representative of all JA BizTown, addresses citizens in morning and afternoon, encourages civic participation

CFO – handles paying bills, trips to the bank and all accounting

Civil Servants – issue business licenses, assist in voting process, and deliver mail

Capital Resources:

Computers, podium, dry-erase board, clipboards, “I Voted!” stickers, official ballots, etc.
