There are 14 businesses in our 10,000 square foot town, including a bank, restaurant, television studio, newspaper, delivery center, town hall, humane society, health center, construction company, electronics store, professsional shop, utility company, and visitors center.
Students first apply for jobs, such as CEO, CFO, technicians, designers, salespersons, and then when in their business teams, they formulate a business plan and prepare themselves to run their business for one day. While at JA BizTown, students work hard to earn their paycheck then they can spend their income at any of the town businesses using their personal checkbooks. CEOs and CFOs have the added responsibility of making sure their business loans are paid and their business has earned a profit.
