JA New Orleans Is Citi Foundation Grant Recipient!
Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans recently received a grant of $8,500 from the Citi Foundation to support an increase in its middle school programs. The check was presented to JA New Orleans president, Jack Brancewicz, by Robert Andrew “Drew” Jardine of Smith Barney. Citi Foundation is fully funded by Citi businesses that include Citibank, CitiFinancial, Primerica, Citi Smith Barney and Banamex.
Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans is associated with JA Worldwide which is an international organization dedicated to preparing young people to succeed in the global economy. It does this through a variety of educational programs in finance and economics presented to children in grades kindergarten through twelfth grade. The funds received from Citi Foundation will be used to enhance the middle school offerings of JA New Orleans.
Junior Achievement was established in 1919 and opened in New Orleans in 1955. Today, JA New Orleans offers its programs in 12 parishes in southeast Louisiana including the Greater New Orleans region. In school year 2006-2007, JA New Orleans with its many volunteers touched the lives of more than 21,500 Louisiana children.
