Last summer, the best and brightest students in our metro area with the most passion for entering the medical field were invited to participate in the Ochsner STAR program. One component of this prestigious program is JA Careers with a Purpose. As part of this JA presentation, students were expected to submit an essay detailing their goals in pursuit of a career with a purpose. We are proud to announce the local winner, Ryan Gupta of Jesuit High School. Please read Ryan's winning essay, "Resiliency: the virtue that perseveres through all of time.” In second and third place were Sobia Arshad of Patrick Taylor High School and Kyrstin Dees of Lusher Charter School, respectively. All three students received $50 from Junior Achievement and are automatically entered into the southeast regional competition in which $200 is at stake. Winners or the regional competition go on to the global competition in which the grand prize is $1500. Please click here for more information on JA Careers with a Purpose.
