On JA Day, students in grades K-4 were presented with a whole day of JA activities designed to inspire and prepare them to successfully participate in our economy. Students learned concepts in financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work-readiness. Jefferson Elementary's 5th grade students will participate in JA BizTown when it re-opens in January.

A Volunteer Perspective...
"Mrs. Richmond's class greeted me with smiles and a resounding "Good morning Mrs. Lupo." This was my first JA in a Day and first time teaching 1st grade, so their welcome made me feel at ease. I was so impressed with how well these excited students behaved, participated in the activities, and retained what we discussed. In one lesson from the "Our Families" unit, each student named a way he or she could help their parents make their homes good places live. If they all remember to do what they said they'd do, there will be a lot more cleaner bedrooms for the parents of these Jefferson Elementary 1st graders - I can only hope. Just five lessons and five hours later (which flew by), I left with more smiles and this time with goodbye hugs and requests from the kids for me to come back soon. What a great day!" - Ann Lupo, LPCA
