The conference brought together high school students from Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard and St. Charles parishes for a half-day of JA sessions on ethics, values, teamwork, problem solving, and presenting yourself to potential employers. New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin kicked off the conference with a keynote address. Following this address, students rotated through three 50-minute breakout sessions. Each session was presented by volunteers from the business community. Sessions were highly interactive and allowed students to consider various aspects of preparing for and being a part of the working world. During lunch, students discussed what they learned and asked career related questions to businesspersons from numerous career fields.
